HYBRID / LOCATION (1 - 2 days/week in the office)
SALARY: £40,000 per annum
THE is seeking a full-time BI Developer to assist in creating insightful financial, sales, and HR dashboards. In this collaborative role, you will work closely with the Principal BI Developer and various departments to enhance data-driven insights. This position is perfect for someone eager to learn, contribute to teamwork, and develop their skills in a supportive environment. You will play a key role in driving Tableau adoption and delivering valuable reporting solutions across the organization.

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to support the development of our BI infrastructure across key areas of the business, including finance, sales, and HR, contributing to our ambitious growth plans and enhancing data-driven insights. You will play a vital role in advancing our use of Tableau, working closely with the Principal BI Developer and other team members to improve reporting capabilities and transparency.
In this role, you will assist in all areas of our BI stack comprising of FiveTran, dbt, GitHub, Snowflake and Tableau. This includes managing connections to critical systems such as Salesforce and NetSuite, which are essential for contracts and invoicing. You will work under the guidance of the Principal BI Developer, who will provide mentorship and support your professional growth as you deliver high-quality reporting solutions.
You will be responsible for creating insightful reports and dashboards for a broad audience, from senior management to junior team members. Your work will ensure that these tools meet user needs, and you will collaborate closely with stakeholders to refine and enhance them continuously.

Collaboration with colleagues in finance will present opportunities to streamline reporting processes and improve workflows. While an understanding of financial concepts is beneficial, it is not essential. Familiarity with Salesforce and NetSuite is a plus, but strong SQL skills will be critical for your success in this role.

Key role responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
• Collaborate with the Principal BI Developer to support the development and refinement of key KPI metrics across the business, ensuring they align with strategic goals and provide actionable insights for growth.
• Liaise with internal teams across Finance, Sales, HR, and Business Intelligence to understand the dashboards and reports needed, ensuring they align with business objectives.
• Collaborate closely with the finance and analytics teams to identify and surface relevant KPIs in dashboards and reports that drive informed business decisions.
• Create high-quality, interactive dashboards and reports tailored for a diverse audience, from senior management to operational teams.
• Partner with other departments utilizing Tableau to share best practices and leverage cross-functional expertise, enhancing Tableau adoption and integration throughout the organization.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to Tableau end users, serving as an expert for Tableau functionality across the business..
• Gather feedback from internal users on dashboard and report performance, using insights to enhance user experience and drive continuous improvement.
• Proactively manage updates to SQL scripts, dashboards and reports under the direction of the Principal BI Developer, ensuring they evolve in response to changing business requirements and user feedback.
• Conduct data quality checks to guarantee that the information displayed through Tableau is accurate, reliable, and actionable.
• Ensure that documentation regarding new reports and reporting rules is stored in GitHub.
• Lead process improvements related to reporting and data visualization, identifying opportunities for automation, efficiency, and enhanced insight delivery.
Education and experience requirements
• High proficiency in Tableau or similar BI visualization tool (including managing dashboard connections to databases) and demonstrable expertise in the development of professional reports and dashboards.
• Strong analytical skills and experience in querying and analyzing data.
• Experience of using real-world data in dashboards and reports, and deriving insights from them.
• Understanding of data quality and quality assurance processes.
• Knowledge of SQL essential.
• Knowledge of higher education an advantage.
• Knowledge of financial reporting an advantage.
