About the role
We are seeking an experienced marketing executive to help develop and execute a regional marketing plan for the Global Sustainable Development Congress, which will take place in Istanbul, Türkiye in June 2025.
This large-scale international event brings together sustainability experts from universities, governments, businesses and non-governmental organisations to drive new alliances and accelerate progress towards the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The ideal candidate will have experience promoting the SDGs or related topics to these audiences in Türkiye across a range of digital channels.
We are looking for someone with an unbridled passion for marketing the SDGs, who can help us spread the word about the event within Türkiye. You should be an articulate, confident individual able to work and communicate to a wide range of stakeholders including university representatives, sustainability directors, business owners, influencers and youth organisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a promotional outreach plan to attract the core audiences from within Türkiye and across the region to attend the event
- Set up and facilitate meetings with potential local partners, influencers and SDG advocates via Zoom, email, and social media
- Create compelling marketing messages and value propositions to effectively communicate the benefits of attending the congress to these audiences
- Design visually appealing marketing and social media assets in Canva to promote the event to local partners and relevant organisations in Türkiye
- Create promo codes within the ticketing platform Bizzabo and share them with partners
- Assist with the management of the event in-box by responding to delegate and partner enquiries relating to tickets, invoices and visas
- Provide ad hoc support to the event marketing team to develop and support other areas of work as required.
Experience & Skills Required
- Passionate about sustainable development with a knowledge of the leading voices from universities, non-governmental organisations, influencers and media outlets in Türkiye and across the region
- Experienced with Canva, Acoustic (or similar email marketing platform)
- Confident and talented self-starter who is able to hit the ground running
- Excellent planning and organisational skills in order to manage and prioritise workload
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including spelling, grammar and proofreading, with the ability to tailor style and approach to suit a variety of global audiences
- Previous working experience with SDG/UN related agencies is an asset but not a requirement
