About the role
The Submission Development Representative is responsible for increasing participation across Times Higher Education's Rankings & Ratings portfolio by engaging universities that are not currently submitting, reactivating lapsed participants, and supporting institutions through the early stages of the submission process. The role plays a key part in strengthening the coverage of THE rankings while building relationships that support broader institutional engagement across THE's portfolio. Increasing participation from new institutions is a strategic priority for THE. Rankings participation is consistently our strongest indicator and leading trigger of future commercial activity, making this role a critical contributor to both new business generation and account retention.

• Execute targeted outreach campaigns through email, phone, LinkedIn, virtual meetings and all available tech.
Submission support

• Support institutions through the submission process, proactively addressing barriers to completion, and monitor progress against deadlines, taking ownership of conversion outcomes.
• Explain rankings methodology, eligibility criteria and data requirements clearly to institutions new to submitting.
• Handle institutional data in line with THE's data protection policies (e.g. GDPR).
Pipeline, insight & referrals
• Maintain an accurate pipeline of target institutions and submission activity within Salesforce.
• Capture and share institutional feedback, market intelligence and participation trends.
• Identify and refer upsell opportunities to regional commercial teams, with a clear brief so referrals can be acted on.
Collaboration
• Collaborate with Rankings, Data and Commercial teams to deliver a seamless participant experience.
Skills & Experience
• Experience (typically 1–3 years) in outbound or inside sales, lead generation, SDR or institutional engagement roles.
• Comfortable working to activity and conversion targets in a high-volume outreach environment.
• Interest in higher education and university rankings; awareness of ranking methodologies is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of Salesforce and sales engagement tools.
• Excellent written communication; able to write persuasive, personalised outreach.
• Able to explain data requirements clearly to institutional research and planning offices.
